A wheat gold Jaldar rug with three large, star-like güls down the centre of the field, each a stepped outline ringed with small squares around a central diamond. Pointed half-güls press in from both long sides between them, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A main border of linked octagons and diamonds, and end bands of small upright figures, frame the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 63×96cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Three large güls set the tone of this rug. Each one has a notched, star-like outline built from small steps, a ring of tiny squares inside, and a diamond at the heart, with little sprigs and hooked arms reaching out at the top, bottom and sides. They are more elaborate than the simple diamonds of many small Jaldars, and give the field a rich, jewel-like rhythm. Between them, pointed half-güls press in from both long sides, so the open ground forms the linked compartments of the jaal, or net, that gives Jaldar its name. A bold main border of linked octagons and diamonds frames the field, and at each end a band of small upright figures closes the design. The silk in the pile adds a gentle sheen. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Shipping is free on orders of ¥150,000 or more (approx. $1,000 / £790 / €920); orders below that ship at a ¥15,000 flat rate (approx. $99 / £79 / €92). Each rug is carefully rolled and wrapped. Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, then take 7 to 15 business days in transit. Every order ships with tracking. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
