A sand cream Jaldar rug with three small diamond güls spaced down a wide, open field, each with stepped edges around a tiny cross-shaped flower. Pointed half-güls with zigzag edges reach in from both long sides, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A wide border of linked, comb-like motifs surrounds the field, and at each end a band of large star-shaped tiles closes the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 65×88cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

This small rug gives most of its space to an open, calm field. Three small diamond güls sit well apart down the centre, each with neat stepped edges around a tiny cross-shaped flower, and pointed half-güls with zigzag edges reach in from the sides between them, so the open ground forms the net, or jaal, behind the name Jaldar. The border is unusually bold for a piece this size: a wide band of linked, comb-like motifs frames the field, and at each end a row of large star-shaped tiles, drawn like four-pointed stars with crosses inside, closes the design. The contrast between the quiet centre and the richly patterned frame gives the rug a balanced, finished look, and the silk in the pile adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
