Hand-knotted rugs from Isfahan, one of the great weaving cities of central Persia. Isfahan workshops are known for exceptionally fine knotting, curvilinear Shah Abbasi and vase designs, and richly detailed borders. Most pieces here are signed by the workshop that wove them, including work from Sirafian and Yazdani. A workshop signature is woven into the rug itself and is the mark of a named atelier rather than anonymous production. Each rug is one of a kind.
