Hand-knotted Ardabil rugs from Persian Azerbaijan in the north-west of Iran. The designs here follow the mahi tradition: a central medallion set on a Herati field of small curved leaves and rosettes, drawn in terracotta, camel and navy. Sized around 200×290cm, which suits a 4.5 tatami room. Each rug is one of a kind.
