Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions for using the online store "Ruginza," operated by Al-Shams Corporation Co., Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read them carefully and use the site only if you agree.

Article 1 (Application)

These Terms apply to all matters relating to use of the site between customers and us. By using the site, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 2 (Account Registration)

You may purchase without an account. Registering gives you access to order history, saved delivery addresses, a wishlist, and member-only campaigns. Please enter accurate information; if false information is provided, we may cancel the registration.

Article 3 (Orders and Formation of the Sales Contract)

Placing an order does not itself form a sales contract.
A contract is formed when we confirm your order and send an order-confirmation email.
We may decline an order if the item is out of stock, your information is incomplete or incorrect, there has been a prior violation of these Terms, or in other cases we judge inappropriate.

Article 4 (About the Products)

All rugs we sell are hand-knotted by artisans. Due to the nature of handmade work, please understand in advance that variations in weave and colour may occur, actual size may differ slightly from the listed size (typically ±3–5 cm), natural materials carry individual character, and colours may appear different on your display. These characteristics are not defects — they are part of the charm of a genuine handmade rug.

Article 5 (Prices and Payment)

Prices are displayed in Japanese Yen (JPY), US Dollars (USD), British Pounds (GBP), or Euros (EUR) according to your region. International amounts are converted at prevailing exchange rates and are approximate. Your card issuer may apply its own conversion or foreign transaction fee.

Prices do not include import duties, VAT, or customs charges, which are the customer's responsibility.

Payment methods include credit card (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club), and for customers in Japan also bank transfer, convenience-store payment, PayPay, and Rakuten Pay. Bank transfer fees are borne by the customer.

Article 6 (Shipping)

Orders are dispatched within 3–5 business days after payment is confirmed.
We ship to Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and 19 European countries.
Shipping is free within Japan (standard) and free on international orders over ¥150,000; a ¥15,000 flat rate applies to international orders below that amount.
International customers are responsible for all import duties, VAT, and customs charges levied by their country.
Delivery may be delayed by weather, customs, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Article 7 (Returns and Exchanges)

Returns and exchanges are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy. Defective or incorrect items are returned at our cost within 7 days (Japan) or 30 days (international); change-of-mind returns are accepted within the same windows for unused items in original packaging, with return shipping at the customer's expense.

Article 8 (Intellectual Property)

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the content on this site (product photographs, text, design, logos) belong to us or the rightful owners. Unauthorised reproduction, reposting, or secondary use is prohibited.

Article 9 (AI-Generated Images)

In some places the site shows interior images created using AI technology to convey a product's scale and atmosphere. These are reference images, not photographs of actual use. For a product's true colour and texture, please refer to the standalone product photographs.

Article 10 (Prohibited Conduct)

You must not violate laws or public order, engage in conduct connected to criminal activity, infringe the rights of us or third parties, interfere with our servers or network, purchase for the purpose of resale, register false information, gain unauthorised access, or engage in any other conduct we judge inappropriate.

Article 11 (Disclaimer)

We make every effort to post accurate information but do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or usefulness. Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damage arising in connection with use of the site.

Article 12 (Changes to These Terms)

We may revise these Terms as necessary. Revised Terms take effect from the time they are posted on the site.

Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan. Should a dispute arise, the Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive court of first instance.
