A camel Jaldar rug with four small güls spaced down a calm, open field, each a stepped octagon with a small cross at its centre. Pointed half-güls with zigzag edges reach in from both long sides between them, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A wide border of linked, comb-like motifs surrounds the field, and at each end a band of small cross-shaped flowers set in rounded frames closes the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 63×102cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Four small güls run down the long, open field of this rug, each a neat stepped octagon with a little cross at the heart and short hooked arms at its sides. Between them, pointed half-güls with zigzag edges reach in from both long sides, so the open ground forms the linked compartments of the jaal, or net, that gives Jaldar its name. Because the half-güls are cut off by the border, the pattern seems to carry on beyond the edge of the rug. Around the field, a wide border of linked, comb-like motifs and small diamonds builds a rich, warm frame, and at each end a band of little cross-shaped flowers set in rounded frames closes the design. The quiet field and patterned border balance each other well, and the silk adds a gentle sheen. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
