A sand cream Jaldar rug with three large diamond güls down the centre, each divided into four small rounded compartments around a central cross. Tiny diamonds are scattered all over the open field between them, and stepped half-güls press in from both long sides, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A border of small octagons, framed by narrow guard stripes, surrounds the field.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 64×87cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Three large diamond güls run down the centre of this rug, and each one is divided into four small rounded compartments arranged around a central cross, like a four-petalled flower set inside a diamond. What sets this rug apart is the field around them: instead of being left plain, it is sprinkled all over with tiny diamonds in a regular rhythm, which gives the open ground a lively, dotted texture. Stepped half-güls press in from both long sides between the güls, so the ground forms the linked compartments of the jaal, or net, that gives Jaldar its name, and they are cut off by the border so the pattern seems to continue. A border of small octagons and narrow guard stripes frames everything. The silk adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Shipping is free on orders of ¥150,000 or more (approx. $1,000 / £790 / €920); orders below that ship at a ¥15,000 flat rate (approx. $99 / £79 / €92). Each rug is carefully rolled and wrapped. Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, then take 7 to 15 business days in transit. Every order ships with tracking. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
