A warm red Jaldar rug with four star-like güls running down the centre of an open field, each a stepped cross of leaf shapes around a small square. Pointed, stepped half-güls press in from both long sides between them, shaping the field into a column of linked compartments, the net that gives Jaldar its name. A wide border of small diamonds, framed by narrow guard stripes, surrounds the field.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 63×93cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A deep, warm ground like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Four güls run down the centre of this rug, each shaped like a stepped star: four leaf-like arms radiate from a small central square, giving the motif a crisp, cross-like outline drawn from Turkmen weaving. From both long sides, pointed half-güls with stepped edges push into the field between them, so the open ground takes the form of linked compartments, the net, or jaal, behind the name Jaldar. Because the half-güls are cut off by the border, the pattern seems to continue beyond the rug. Around the field, a wide border of small diamonds in a steady repeat gives a calm, even frame, and narrow guard stripes of tiny flowers and zigzags finish the edges. The strong, clear drawing stands out well at this small size. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
