An olive sage Jaldar rug: four octagonal compartments are stacked down the field, each holding a diamond gül with a small flower at its centre, and narrow bands with small triangle motifs run between them, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A wide border of small blocks and crosses, framed by many narrow guard stripes, surrounds the field.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 62×86cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A mid-tone ground like this hides everyday marks well, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar takes its name from jaal, meaning net, and this rug shows that net clearly. Four octagonal compartments are stacked down the centre of the field, and the narrow bands between them, filled with small triangles and dots, link them together like the knots of a net. Inside each octagon sits a diamond gül with stepped edges and a small flower at its heart, a motif drawn from Turkmen weaving. Around the field, a wide border of alternating small blocks and crosses gives a strong, rhythmic frame, and many narrow guard stripes of tiny diamonds and dots finish the edges. With four güls instead of three, the design feels slightly more compact and lively than many mats of this size. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
