A celadon green Jaldar rug with three large octagons stacked down the field, each framing a stepped diamond gül with a small cross-shaped flower at its centre. Diagonal bands filled with small motifs link the octagons and run out to the border, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A wide band of diamond lattice closes each end, and many narrow guard stripes of small crosses frame the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 64×97cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A light ground like this shows dark marks more than a deep ground would, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Three large octagons sit one above another down this rug, each a calm, open space of soft colour framing a single stepped diamond gül. The güls are built from layered staircase outlines around a small cross-shaped flower, a motif carried over from Turkmen weaving. Between the octagons, diagonal bands filled with tiny diamonds and crosses reach out to the sides, so the whole field reads as a net, the jaal that gives Jaldar its name. The bands are cut off by the border, which makes the lattice feel as though it continues beyond the rug. Wide bands of diamond lattice close each end, and many narrow guard stripes of small crosses and stars frame the field. The pale ground keeps the busy border feeling light. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
