A vermilion Bokhara rug with five Turkmen güls in a single column down the field. Each gül is a rounded octagon quartered by a cross, with small hooked figures in each quarter. Stepped half-güls line both long sides, a band of diamond lattice closes each end, and several narrow stripes of small diamonds and stars frame the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 64×97cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A deep, warm ground like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Five güls in a single row down the centre give this rug the classic Bokhara look. The gül, a rounded octagon divided into quarters by a cross, with small hooked figures in each section, is the emblem of Turkmen weaving and the motif most people picture when they think of a Bokhara. Along the long sides, stepped half-güls are cut off by the border, so the pattern seems to run on beyond the rug. At each end, a band of diamond lattice closes the field, and several narrow stripes of small diamonds and stars, including one bright band of tiny star flowers, frame the whole design. The strong, saturated ground makes the pale güls stand out clearly, even from across a room. It suits an entrance, a bedside or any small space that needs a traditional accent.

Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, then take 7 to 15 business days in transit. Every order ships with tracking. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
