A warm gold field carrying a single column of Turkmen güls worked in salmon, cream, teal and black, with large chevron devices flanking them at both field edges. Wide multi-band borders of star-güls in salmon and cream on a dark ground frame the field, backed by narrow teal and cream guards, and a bold diagonal-lattice panel closes the end. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The güls are not outlined: each one is built from stacked rows of stepped devices, and the octagon shape comes from where those rows stop rather than from any drawn contour. At 69×134cm this is a small rug, suited to a bedside, an entrance or a galley kitchen. A gold ground sits at the warmer, paler end and will show marks more readily than a red or dark rug.
