Four hooked diamond medallions run down the centre of this Rose Taupe rug, each built from concentric stepped diamonds with a small rosette at its heart and joined by lighter stepped lattice lines that continue across the field. The side panels of the field carry rows of small hooked and stepped motifs, and the whole is framed by a main border of hooked diamond güls, narrow guard stripes, a wide end panel of fine diamond lattice and a barber-pole stripe at each end.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a short, dense pile that keeps the stepped outlines sharp. An Extra Small rug at 78×135cm, it suits an entryway or a bedside.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A busy, mid-tone pattern like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

The field is a column of four large hooked diamond medallions stacked on the centre line. Each is drawn as a set of nested stepped diamonds with hooks along every edge and a small rosette at the centre, and the outermost outline of each diamond runs on as a lighter stepped lattice line that links them into one continuous chain. The ground between and beside the diamonds is filled with smaller hooked diamonds, stars and stepped motifs in contrasting tones, so the surface is busy edge to edge. A main border of hooked diamond güls, several narrow guard stripes, a wide end panel filled with a fine diamond lattice and a barber-pole stripe at each end complete the frame. From across the room the stacked diamonds give the rug a strong vertical rhythm; up close the hooks and tiny fillers reward a longer look. It suits an entrance or a bedside.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
