A cherry red Jaldar rug with a column of three large stepped diamond medallions, each set inside its own lobed cartouche. Small star-and-hook motifs fill the diamonds and the ground around them, and stepped half-motifs enter from the long sides between the cartouches. A series of narrow guard borders of tiny geometric repeats frames the design, with fringe at both ends.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A deep, rich ground like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar rugs are woven in Pakistan in the Turkmen tradition, close cousins of the Bokhara but drawn around diamonds rather than oval güls; the name comes from the net-like lattice that links the compartments. This small piece carries a column of three large stepped diamond medallions, each set inside its own lobed cartouche, with small star-and-hook motifs filling the diamonds and the ground around them. Stepped half-motifs enter from the long sides between the cartouches, so the field reads as one continuous net. A series of narrow guard borders of tiny geometric repeats frames the whole, and the pile is finished with fringe at both ends. The cherry red ground gives the crisp geometry warmth and glow. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
