A design of nested rectangular frames working inward from the edge, alternating light and dark: a broad chestnut outer field flecked with cream dots, a band of fine horizontal stripes, a pale camel frame, a dark brown band scattered with small cream flecks, and at the centre a plain camel panel edged with a sawtooth line. Every band is a different texture rather than a different motif. Woven without fringe, finished at the ends with a plain selvedge.
Hand-knotted in Ghazni wool. The whole rug sits in one colour family — measured, ninety-eight per cent of the surface falls in a single orange-gold range — so the frames are separated by depth alone, and the design reads as a series of light and dark rings from the centre out. At 61×90cm this is a small mat, suited to a bedside, an entrance or a wall hanging.
