A cherry red rug with an all-over floral field in the Persian style: small flowering sprays, blossoms and leafy stems are scattered evenly across the ground, gathered around a few small star-like flower clusters down the centre. A wide border of curling palmettes, flower heads and leaves, between narrow guard stripes, frames the design.

Hand-knotted in India in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 64×94cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance or beside a bed.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight.

This rug follows the all-over floral style of Persian Sarouk rugs, where the whole field is covered with a light, even scatter of flowers rather than one large medallion. Small flowering sprays, blossoms and leafy stems are spread across the ground in a balanced, mirror-image arrangement, and a few star-like flower clusters run down the centre to give the eye a gentle focus. The drawing is soft and curvilinear, with each little spray turning and branching in its own direction, so the surface feels lively without being crowded. A wide border of curling palmettes, flower heads and leaves frames the field in strong contrast, set between narrow guard stripes with a small reciprocal pattern. The silk in the pile adds a refined sheen to the flowers. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
