Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Twenty-four garden panels, eight rows of three, each a separate scene: a weeping willow, a cypress, a chinar in blossom, a flowering vase beneath an arch, a boteh curled inside a wreath, a fine jali lattice. No motif sits beside a repeat of itself. The panel grounds shift between rose, teal, cream, sage and gold, so the field reads as a grid of small gardens rather than one continuous pattern. A wide taupe main border of rosettes and palmettes frames it, with dogtooth guard bands, a red selvedge and cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in silk at a fine gauge — fine enough for a willow's individual fronds and the diagonals of a jali screen to stay legible inside panels only a few inches across. The pile carries a directional sheen, so walking to the other end lifts the rose panels and settles the sage ones. At 61×149cm this is a narrow accent piece for a bedside, a hallway or the foot of a bed. It is long relative to its width but not a runner, which is worth knowing if you are measuring for a corridor.

100% silk pile, hand-knotted, with a natural fringe at both ends. Silk is stronger than wool thread for thread but far less forgiving of moisture, friction and sunlight, so this rug asks for more care than a wool piece and should never be cleaned at home.

Several panel grounds are pale and will show a spill readily, though the density of the drawing hides light marking better than a plain field would. A narrow rug in a hallway takes concentrated traffic down its centre line, so if it goes underfoot use a rug pad and rotate it regularly.

A khesti design is modular, and that is why it turns up on narrow rugs far more often than a medallion does. A medallion has to sit at the centre of a field with room around it; squeeze the field and the medallion is squeezed with it, and the corner spandrels start to collide. A grid of panels has no such problem — the weaver simply chooses how many columns fit across the width and keeps stacking rows until the length is used up. Here that produces three columns and eight rows, twenty-four panels; the same design at twice the width would be six columns and would look equally correct. It is the reason compartment layouts dominate runners and narrow pieces across every weaving tradition that uses them. Look also at how the panels are ordered: motifs repeat throughout, but never in adjoining squares, so the eye keeps moving instead of settling into a checkerboard.
