Twenty-four small garden panels, six rows of four, each one a separate scene: a flowering vase, a weeping willow, a slim cypress, a spreading chinar, a boteh curled inside a cartouche, a fine jali lattice. No two neighbouring panels repeat. The grounds shift between pale sage, dusty rose, cream and soft gold, so the field reads as a quilt of small gardens rather than one continuous pattern.
Hand-knotted in silk at a fine gauge, which is what allows motifs this small to stay legible. The pile carries a directional sheen — walk to the other end of the rug and the sage panels lift while the rose ones deepen. An ivory-sage main border of rosette palmettes is framed by several narrow dogtooth guard bands, with a coral-red selvedge and a natural fringe at both ends. At 77×126cm this is a bedside, entry or accent piece; the pale grounds will show a spill, so it is happier away from a dining table.
