Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A muted sage green field divided by a lattice of narrow bands into twenty-four hexagonal compartments, four across and six down, each holding a stepped diamond medallion in taupe, cream and soft rose around a small rosette. A second, smaller diamond sits on the lattice itself at every crossing. Very wide camel borders carry stars, rosettes and hooked repeats through many narrow guard stripes. Cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in wool at a quality of 9/18 — nine knots to the inch across the width, eighteen rows to the inch down the length. The compartment cell measures 31.7 by 29.0cm, near enough square, which on this grid took 112 knots across and 205 rows down. At 201×257cm this is a large room rug, suited to a living or dining room.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted at a quality of 9/18 — nine knots per inch across the width and eighteen rows per inch down the length, which works out at roughly 1.3 million knots in a rug this size. Cream fringe at both ends.

A muted sage ground is one of the more practical colours to live with — dark enough to hide ordinary soiling, light enough that it does not show lint the way a near-black field does. The camel borders are the vulnerable part and they take up more of this rug than the field does, running better than 36cm deep on all four sides. Within the field, about three-quarters of the surface carries drawing, so marks there tend to be broken up by pattern rather than sitting in open ground.

The quality grade on this rug is 9/18, and the two numbers are not interchangeable. Nine is knots per inch across the width; eighteen is rows per inch down the length. The grid this weaver worked on is twice as fine vertically as it is horizontally, which means a shape drawn with the same count in both directions comes off the loom twice as wide as it is tall. Everything square in the design had to be deliberately un-squared in the counting.

You can measure the correction. The hexagonal compartments run on a cell of 31.7 by 29.0 centimetres — within about nine per cent of square, and to the eye simply square. On a 9/18 grid that same cell is 112 knots across and 205 rows down, so the weaver counted 1.83 rows for every column to arrive at a shape that reads as balanced on the floor. That ratio had to be held twenty-four times over, across a field of nearly 1.3 million knots, with no cumulative drift, or the lattice would have gone visibly lozenge-shaped by the far end. It is the sort of discipline that is invisible when it works and unmistakable when it fails.
