Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

An ivory field carrying a scrolling vine hung with large lotus palmettes in soft blue and teal, smaller rosettes in rose and gold, and curled brown leaves. At the centre a lobed medallion in salmon rose, with pendants reaching to either end and four matching corner spandrels; the same salmon fills the wide main border, where it carries a procession of palmettes and rosettes framed by dark guard bands. Red selvedge, cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in silk at 30/30 quality — 30 knots to the inch in each direction, about 900 to the square inch and something over 1.4 million knots in this rug. The pile carries a directional sheen, so from one end the ivory warms and the salmon deepens, and from the other the ground cools while the blue lotus flowers lift instead. At 79×128cm this suits a bedside, an entry or a spot beside a chair. The ivory ground is unforgiving of spills, so keep it away from where food and drink are handled.

100% silk pile, hand-knotted at 30/30 quality, with a natural fringe at both ends. Silk is stronger than wool thread for thread but far less forgiving of moisture, friction and sunlight, so this rug asks for more care than a wool piece and should never be cleaned at home.

The ivory ground will show a spill far more readily than a dark rug would. The salmon is also a lighter, softer dye than a deep red and will show fading sooner, so keep the rug out of strong light. A silk this fine shades and tracks where it is walked on — normal, and it reverses when the pile is brushed back. Use a rug pad underneath.

Look at how the flowers are turned. The large lotus palmettes in blue and teal are drawn face-on, opened flat towards the viewer with every petal visible at once. Almost everything around them — the rosettes, the small blossoms on the vine — is drawn in profile, seen from the side. This is a deliberate Persian convention rather than an inconsistency: mixing frontal and profile views within one flat design gives the eye something to move between, and the face-on flowers read as nearer while the profile ones recede. It is the closest a weaving tradition that refuses perspective comes to describing depth. The other thing worth noticing is that the medallion and the main border are the same salmon. Centre and frame rhyme with each other, and the ivory field is left floating between them, which is why this rug reads as light despite more than half its surface being coloured.
