A coral red field carrying a single column of Turkmen güls, closely stacked, each filled with hooked devices in salmon, cream and indigo around a bold indigo centre and outlined in a warm near-black. Hooked pendants flank them at both field edges. Wide multi-band borders of diamond diaper, star repeats and reciprocal devices in salmon, cream, indigo and black frame the field, closing with a broad diamond panel at the end. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. There are two separate dark wools at work here rather than one: a warm near-black doing the outlining and a true indigo filling the gül centres. At 70×146cm this is a small rug, suited to a bedside, an entrance or a galley kitchen. A coral red ground is among the more forgiving colours for a rug that gets walked on.
