Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

An olive sage rug with no pattern at all: the whole surface is a single colour, brought to life by fine horizontal streaks of lighter and darker tone that run across the width. There is no border and no motif, just the texture of the hand-knotted pile.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan in wool. The streaking comes from natural variation in the yarn, so the rug looks soft and lived-in rather than flat. At 197×302cm this is a large rug for a living room or dining room.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in living and dining rooms.

A large plain field like this shows the pile direction clearly, so it can look lighter or darker depending on how it is brushed, and strong sunlight can fade it unevenly.

A plain rug is the simplest design there is, and here the interest comes entirely from the wool. Instead of a flat, uniform colour, the pile is full of fine horizontal streaks, lighter and darker, that run across the width like grain in wood or ripples on water. This happens naturally when batches of yarn take dye slightly differently, and it gives the surface a gentle movement that changes with the light and the angle you see it from. With no border, motif or medallion, the rug sits quietly under furniture and lets the rest of the room speak, while still adding warmth and texture underfoot. It works as a calm base for patterned cushions, artwork or a strong sofa colour, and suits a modern or natural living or dining room.
