A slate blue field carrying the herati or mahi pattern at very fine scale — a rosette inside a diamond, flanked by four curved leaves, repeated across the whole ground. A lobed medallion sits at the centre with pendants above and below, and salmon spandrels close the four corners, each filled with the same herati at the same scale. Wide salmon borders of flowering vine and palmettes frame the field through blue guard stripes. Ivory fringe.
Hand-knotted in wool. The herati repeats every 4.0cm down the field, with the diagonal neighbours 7.7 to 8.0cm away — a complete motif, rosette and diamond and four leaves, inside a square about the size of a large coin. At 247×284cm this is a large room rug, suited to a formal living or dining room.
