Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep red ground is divided into a grid of garden compartments — each panel filled with a different motif of flowering plants, botehs, diamond medallions and cypress trees in blue, gold, cream and green — in this hand-knotted Ghazni. A red border of blossoming trees, flanked by a navy floral guard stripe, frames the panelled field. It follows the classic Bakhtiari ‘khesti’ garden design, a much-loved pattern of the region.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from soft, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and hard-wearing, with a gentle sheen. Coloured with natural dyes and worked entirely by hand, the tones glow with soft abrash and every compartment is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Ghazni rugs are hand-knotted in the highlands of Afghanistan, prized for soft, hand-spun wool and rich natural dyes. This one follows the Bakhtiari ‘garden panel’ (khesti) design — a grid of compartments, each filled with a different motif of flowering plants, botehs, medallions and cypress trees in blue, gold, cream and red — framed by a red border of blossoming trees. Worked entirely by hand, every panel is drawn a little differently, the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
