Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A rich gold field is anchored by a stepped navy-blue centre medallion, its interior worked with a red-and-cream lattice, in this finely knotted Afghani Sherwan. Above and below, red diamond medallions, green-centred octagonal güls and radiating star-flowers fill the ground, all framed by a red border of güls and palmettes with navy guard stripes. It has the bold, jewel-like colour of a classic Caucasian village weave.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from fine, hand-spun highland wool, the pile is dense and finely knotted, giving sharp definition to every motif and border. Coloured with natural dyes and worked entirely by hand, the tones glow with gentle abrash and every figure is drawn a little differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

Afghani Sherwan rugs revive the crisp geometry of the old Caucasus — Shirvan, Kuba and Kazak weavings. Here a rich gold field frames a stepped navy centre medallion, flanked by red diamond medallions, green-centred güls and radiating star-flowers, inside a red border of palmettes. Finely knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
