Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A crimson red Bokhara rug with twelve diamond güls in two columns of six, each a stepped lozenge with small hooked teeth around the edge and a little cross-and-diamond motif at its centre. A column of smaller stepped diamond güls runs between them, and half-diamonds cut into the field along the edges, giving the ground a scalloped outline. A main border of linked comb and ram's-horn motifs and end bands of stepped diamonds frame the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 79×120cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

Material: Wool and silk pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. The wool gives strength and body, and the silk adds a soft sheen to the pile.

Silk is more delicate than wool and can show pressure marks and changes of light more readily, and strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight.

This rug follows the Turkmen and Bokhara arrangement of major and minor güls on a strong, open ground. Twelve major güls stand in two columns of six, each a stepped lozenge edged with small hooked teeth and holding a little cross-and-diamond motif at its heart. A single column of smaller stepped diamond güls runs between the two columns, and along the sides and ends half-diamonds cut into the field, giving the ground a lively scalloped outline and making the repeat seem to continue beyond the rug. With no bands joining the güls, the pattern stays open and orderly. The main border is a bold chain of linked comb and ram's-horn motifs, an old Turkmen device often read as a symbol of strength and protection, and each end is closed by an elem band of stepped diamonds. The silk adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.
