A crimson red rug with a single stepped medallion at the centre of an open field: an elongated diamond with notched edges, filled with small rosettes and leaf shapes, with pendant rosettes above and below. Stepped corner spandrels with hooked edges frame the field, and a wide border of eight-pointed star flowers and leafy sprigs, between narrow guard stripes, completes the design.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool and silk, with a soft sheen that catches the light. At 79×120cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

This rug is built around one strong central medallion set on a wide, open field. The medallion is an elongated, stepped diamond with notched edges, drawn in the angular style of village rugs from the Caucasus and north-west Persia, and filled with small rosettes, leaf shapes and a hooked motif at its heart. Small pendant rosettes mark the top and bottom, and stepped corner spandrels with hooked edges echo the medallion's outline, giving the classic medallion-and-corner layout. Because the field around the medallion is left almost plain, the composition feels clean and uncluttered, with a bold, modern clarity. A wide border of eight-pointed star flowers alternating with leafy sprigs, framed by narrow guard stripes of small rosettes, surrounds the field, and the silk in the pile adds a soft sheen. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
