Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep brick red field carrying staggered rows of stepped diamond güls, each framed in ivory around a small gold star and fringed with salmon hooked appendages, with the red ground left open between them rather than filled edge to edge. The border is unusually deep: a wide inner band of almond cells with dark red centres, a guard of small red crosses and gold lozenges to either side of it, and a broad outer band of large stepped diamonds in ivory and camel with orange accents. Cream fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in wool. The border is where the work went, and it is built symmetrically — fold it along the middle of the wide inner band and every guard and bead line lands on its twin, while the two side borders together take a little over a quarter of the rug's width. That inner band is also the only rounded drawing on the rug; the güls and the outer border are strictly angular. At 168×234cm this is a room-sized rug suited to a sitting room or a bedroom. A deep red ground hides everyday marks well, though the pale borders carry most of the design and will show wear sooner.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted, with a natural fringe at both ends. Wool is resilient and forgiving underfoot, and the fine drawing across the borders hides light soiling well.

The deep brick red ground hides everyday marks but shows lint and pale fibres. The part to protect here is the border: it carries most of the design and it sits exactly where a rug takes its hardest wear — along the edges, where feet step onto the rug and where furniture legs usually land.

Most of the work on this rug went into the frame rather than the field. Count the bands outward from the red ground and the border turns out to be built symmetrically around its widest stripe: a fine hooked band, a bead line, a guard of small red crosses and gold lozenges, then the wide band — and then that same guard, the same bead line and the same hooked band again on the far side. Fold the border along the middle of the wide band and every stripe lands on its twin. That wide band is also the only rounded drawing anywhere on the rug. The güls are stepped diamonds, angular by construction, and the outermost border returns to large angular diamonds; the band held between them is made of almond-shaped cells with red centres. So the rug carries two ways of drawing and places the curved one at the exact axis of its border, framed on both sides by the geometry it interrupts. The two side borders together take a little over a quarter of the width, which is generous for this weave and the reason the field reads as calm rather than sparse.
