Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A rose Jaldar rug with an all-over field of stepped diamond güls set in staggered rows, so each row sits between the güls of the next and the open ground between them forms a continuous net, the lattice that gives Jaldar its name. Each gül is built from nested serrated diamonds around a small central motif, and half-güls cut off at the edges suggest the pattern runs on beyond the rug. Many narrow guard borders of small geometric repeats and a main border of alternating small medallions frame the design, with fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 249×251cm (about 4.5 tatami) this is a large square rug, well suited to a living room or a dining room.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in a busy living or dining room.

A soft, mid-toned ground like this hides everyday marks well, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar rugs are woven in Pakistan in the Turkmen tradition, close cousins of the Bokhara but drawn around diamonds rather than oval güls; the name comes from the net-like lattice that links them. On this large square piece the diamond güls are laid out in staggered rows across the whole field, each row sitting between the güls of the next, so the open ground between them reads as one continuous net. Every gül is built from nested serrated diamonds around a small central motif, and the half-güls cut off at the edges make the pattern feel as if it runs on beyond the rug. Many narrow guard borders of small geometric repeats and a main border of alternating small medallions frame the whole, and the pile is finished with fringe at both ends. The rose ground gives the crisp geometry a soft warmth. A square rug of this size suits a living room or sits neatly under a dining table.
