Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A red Jaldar rug with a full lattice of thirty-two octagonal compartments, four across and eight down, each holding a stepped diamond gül with a small quartered centre. Narrow patterned bands link the octagons into a continuous net, and small diamond güls sit where the bands meet, the lattice that gives Jaldar its name. Many guard borders of small geometric repeats and a main border of linked chain motifs frame the design, with fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 244×250cm (about 4.5 tatami) this is a large square rug, well suited to a living room or a dining room.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in a busy living or dining room.

A deep, rich ground like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

Jaldar rugs are woven in Pakistan in the Turkmen tradition, close cousins of the Bokhara; the name comes from the net-like lattice that links the compartments, and on this large square piece that net covers the whole field. Thirty-two octagonal compartments, four across and eight down, each hold a stepped diamond gül with a small quartered centre, and narrow patterned bands join them into one continuous grid, with small diamond güls set wherever the bands meet. The repetition gives the rug a calm, orderly rhythm that reads well from any side of the room. Many guard borders of small geometric repeats and a main border of linked chain motifs frame the whole, and the pile is finished with fringe at both ends. The red ground gives the crisp geometry warmth and depth. A square rug of this size suits a living room or sits neatly under a dining table.
