Scrolling vines, palmettes, leafy branches, and blossoms in gold, sage and deep green, rust-red, ivory, and rose cover almost the entire field, so the black background reads as a velvety backdrop glimpsed between the flowers.
The richly multi-coloured floral work gives the rug extraordinary depth and movement — every part of the field rewards a closer look, with small birds and pomegranates hidden among the blooms. A deep burgundy-wine border of palmettes and rosettes, worked in the same warm multi-colour palette, frames the garden and intensifies its jewel-like glow.
