A deep crimson field divided into a column of large octagonal compartments by broad bands of salmon and cream, each band edged in dark blue and set with small hooked devices. Each compartment holds a single small stepped diamond medallion at its centre, drawn in cream, peach and navy, with a great deal of open crimson around it. Wide multi-band borders of diamond diaper in salmon, blue and cream frame the field, closing at the end with a broad panel of hooked forms. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The compartments share their walls — the band between any two belongs to both, with no crimson gap separating them — so the field reads as a continuous chain of cells rather than as separate emblems on a ground. At 78×246cm this is a runner, suited to a hallway or a landing. A deep crimson ground is among the most forgiving colours a rug can have.
