A clear turquoise field carrying thirty flattened Turkmen güls in three columns of ten, each a notched octagon outlined in near-black and quartered by a central bar, filled with hooked devices in gold, cream and salmon. Small stepped cross devices stand between the rows. Deep multi-band borders of hooked repeats, diamond diaper and bead lines frame the field, with pink rosette cartouches set at intervals down each side and a bold zigzag panel closing both ends. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The güls are unusually small for the weave — measured, all thirty together cover about 8% of the rug, and inside the field itself just under three-quarters of the surface is open ground. At 155×250cm this is a medium room rug, suited to a living room, a bedroom or under a smaller dining table.
