Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Warm and jewel-like, this rug glows with a rich mustard-gold field, at the heart of which sits a soft sage-green medallion crowned by a single red bloom. Around it, the golden ground is filled with fine scrolling vines, palmettes, and blossoms in green, rust, ivory, and rose — a luminous garden built on warm gold.

The unusual pairing of mustard-gold and soft green is what sets this rug apart. The green medallion and matching green main border cool and balance the warm field, while ivory spandrels and rust-red accents add contrast and depth. It is a sophisticated, slightly unexpected palette on a very classical Tabriz medallion design.

Hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with the tight double knot, the rug shows the high knot density and refined drawing of a fine city-style weave. Its warm gold-and-green palette brings light and elegance to a living room, bedroom, or study. As a one-of-a-kind handmade piece, no other rug shares its exact colours, drawing, or character. Woven with the persian double knot.

The central-medallion design is the most celebrated layout in Persian weaving: a single ornate medallion at the heart of a flowering field, framed by floral borders and corner spandrels — an image of the formal paradise garden, ordered around a central bloom. Tabriz and Kashan are the cities most associated with its finest examples.

What makes this piece special is its colouring — a warm mustard-gold field paired with a soft sage-green medallion and border, a gentler and more unusual palette than the classic red or ivory. Rewoven by hand in Pakistan in fine wool, its small irregularities are the signature of the weaver’s hand, not flaws.
