This rug fills a deep, near-black ground with an all-over garden in full bloom. Scrolling vines, broad palmettes, open blossoms and pomegranate motifs spread symmetrically across the field, worked in a rich, antique-feeling palette of gold, olive green, rust, salmon, dark red and cream. There is no single medallion; instead the whole surface reads as a dense, glowing garden seen at dusk, every corner alive with flowers.

A deep, intricate floral border wraps the field, its dark ground carrying palmettes, rosettes and quatrefoil medallions in red, gold, green and cream — a frame as detailed as the field itself. A navy-black outer edge and ivory fringe complete the piece. The dark ground makes the warm gold and green of the flowers glow, giving this classical garden design a dramatic, jewel-like depth.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan with the fine Persian double knot, the rug is woven in pure wool on a cotton foundation — the pile dense and even, the floral detail extraordinarily fine, finished with a hand-tied ivory fringe.
