Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

Rows of small garden panels fill this finely hand-knotted Ghazni, each little compartment framing its own tribal motif — a flowering vase, a cypress, a star, a blossoming tree — worked in warm reds, blues, gold, rust and cream and set against a soft, silvery sage-green ground. Known as a garden or ‘khesti’ design, it gathers dozens of miniature rugs into one, joyful and endlessly detailed, framed by a calm plain border.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from fine, hand-spun Ghazni highland wool — prized for its softness, lustre and durability — the pile is dense and finely knotted, giving crisp detail in every panel. Coloured with natural dyes and worked entirely by hand, the gentle abrash and slight variations between compartments mark it as a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The garden panel, or khesti, design divides the field into a grid of small compartments, each a miniature garden or tribal vignette — an old Persian and tribal idea of paradise gathered into one rug. This finely knotted Ghazni renders dozens of them in natural-dyed colour on a soft sage ground. Though it can look like patchwork, it is woven as a single piece, every panel knotted by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
