A wheat gold field carrying a column of medallions that alternate between two kinds: a large elaborate one in dusty rose with cloud-band arms, pendant palmettes and a stepped diamond core, then a smaller plain stepped diamond, then a large one again. Curling vines, leaf sprays and small blossoms in rose, sage, cream and rust fill the ground between. Wide rose borders of rosettes and palmettes frame the field, backed by narrow floral guards, and a band of small tree devices closes the end. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool with silk. The two medallion sizes take turns the whole way down, so the column has a long-short rhythm rather than an even march. At 79×397cm this is a long runner, suited to a corridor or a hallway. A wheat gold ground sits at the warmer, paler end and will show marks more readily than a dark rug.
