Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A raspberry red field carrying five stepped diamond güls in a single column, each in cream, tan, gold and black with a small red rosette at its heart and a hooked, serrated outline. Small stepped half-diamonds with hooked tips reach in from both sides of the field, level with the gaps between the güls. Several wide border bands of small rosettes and dots in red, cream, gold and black run on all four sides, with a separate tan band of gold and pale green diamond lattice at each end, a plain raspberry outer band and ivory fringe.

Hand-knotted in wool. The five güls are the same shape and size from end to end, and the side half-diamonds sit exactly level with the four gaps between them, so the field reads as an even, steady column. At 94×159cm this is a 3×5 rug — a hallway, entrance or bedside piece.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan, with ivory fringe at both ends. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the dense pile of a Jaldar is made for everyday floor use.

The raspberry field is open between the güls, so it will show vacuum tracks and pile shading — lighter or darker depending on which way the pile is brushed. Raspberry is also a bright, saturated red that will show fading from strong sunlight sooner than a deep red would.

A Jaldar is built on a net — jal means net — but on this rug the net is only hinted at. There are no lattice bands across the field. Instead, look at the edges: small stepped half-diamonds with hooked tips reach in from both sides, each one sitting exactly level with a gap between two güls. They are the cut-off ends of the lattice, and the eye fills in the rest, joining each pair across the field so that every gül sits in an invisible compartment of its own. With five güls rather than three or four, the rhythm becomes the main event: gül, gap, gül, gap, all the way down an open raspberry ground. The borders take the opposite approach — several bands packed with small rosettes and dots, and a separate tan lattice band at each end — so the plain, even field is set inside a dense, finely patterned frame.
