Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A pole of stepped medallions down a deep red field, alternating between two forms: a broad hexagonal cartouche with hooked arms reaching out to either side, and a narrower stepped lozenge. Between them sit small eight-point star rosettes in pairs. The medallions are coloured individually — ivory, apricot, indigo, sea green, gold — so no two down the length repeat. The wide cream main border carries large stepped tree forms, and a gold outer band of zigzag and small diamonds closes it, with fine dark guard stripes between.

Hand-knotted in wool. Everything is built on the grid: the hooks, the stepped outlines, even the star rosettes are made from right angles, with no true curve anywhere in the rug. The red ground carries visible abrash, wide horizontal bands where one dye lot gave way to the next. At 79×247cm this is a shorter runner — good for a hallway that stops at a door, or alongside a bed. A deep red ground hides everyday marks well, making it practical for a space that gets real use.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted, with a natural fringe at both ends. Wool is resilient and forgiving underfoot, which makes a Kazak a sensible choice for a corridor that gets real use.

The abrash banding in the red ground is a feature of hand-spun, small-lot dyed wool rather than a fault, and it will not even out over time. A runner takes concentrated traffic down its centre line, so use a rug pad and rotate it end for end regularly.

The medallions alternate between two shapes rather than repeating one, and that is a deliberate solution to a problem runners create. A single repeated medallion down three metres reads as a queue; two forms in alternation give the eye a rhythm instead, and the small paired star rosettes between them act as the beat. Look at the hooked arms reaching sideways from the broader medallions — those hooks are structural as much as decorative, filling the width of the field so the red ground never opens into an empty gap beside a narrow motif. The whole rug is drawn without a single curve. Every apparent diagonal is a staircase of right angles, because a knot can only sit on the grid of warp and weft, and a village weaver working without a squared cartoon builds each form directly on that grid. The colouring confirms it: each medallion is dressed differently as the weaver reaches it, which a cartoon-driven workshop rug never does.
