Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A crimson field carrying five diamond güls in a single column, each in cream, tan, red and black with a small stepped cross at its heart and an outline fringed all round with comb-like hooks. Between the güls, nested chevrons in tan, cream and black reach in from both sides of the field, their points aimed at the gaps. Several border bands of small cream and red lozenges, dotted diaper and hooked lattice run on all four sides, closed by a plain crimson outer band and ivory fringe at both ends.

Hand-knotted in wool. The whole rug keeps to one warm family of colours — crimson, cream, tan and black — with no blue or green anywhere, so the pattern is carried by contrast of light and dark rather than by colour. At 94×158cm this is a 3×5 rug — a hallway, entrance or bedside piece.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan, with ivory fringe at both ends. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the dense pile of a Jaldar is made for everyday floor use.

Crimson hides everyday marks well, but the open field between the güls will show vacuum tracks and pile shading. The cream in the güls and borders, and the ivory fringe, will show dirt first in a hallway.

Many Pakistani Jaldars mix in a cool accent — a grey-blue or a sage green — to lift the red. This one leaves them out. Every motif on the rug is drawn in the same warm family: crimson ground, cream and tan güls, black outlines, and red again in the small details. With no cool colour to separate one part from another, the weaver relies on light against dark, and on the hooks. Look at the edge of any gül: it is fringed all round with small comb-like teeth, and the nested chevrons reaching in from the sides are fringed the same way. Those hooked edges catch the eye far more than a plain outline would, so the five güls and the chevrons between them read crisply against the crimson even without a contrasting colour. The result is a rug with a single, glowing tone — warm from edge to edge.
