A camel field carrying a single column of Turkmen güls in salmon, cream and near-black, with a fine dark line running down the centre through them. The borders are very wide for the width of the rug — seven bands deep on each side — and the main one alternates its ground: a near-black panel carrying a large star device, then a salmon-ground panel carrying the same device in reverse, then black again, the whole way down. A bold end panel of diagonal lattice in cream, salmon and teal closes the rug. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. The star device in the main border appears alternately light-on-dark and dark-on-light, so the same motif reads twice over as two different things. At 79×422cm this is a very long runner, suited to a full corridor or a hall. A camel ground sits at the warmer, paler end and will show marks more readily than a dark rug.
