Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep burgundy field carrying twelve lobed Turkmen güls in two columns, each quartered in gold and ivory around a small navy and green centre. Cross-shaped minor güls with gold bar arms and ivory hooked tips stand between them, down the centre and along both edges of the field. The main border is divided into compartments, each holding a gold octagonal rosette ringed with small hooked rays, set between narrow bands of small diamonds. At each end a separate navy panel carries large hooked diagonal motifs in ivory and gold, closed by a plain burgundy outer band and ivory fringe.

Hand-knotted in wool. Every compartment of the main border holds a single gold rosette, so the border reads as a chain of small suns running round all four sides of the field. At 97×164cm this is a 3×5 rug — a hallway, entrance or bedside piece.

100% wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan, with ivory fringe at both ends. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the close pile of a Bokhara is made for everyday floor use.

Deep burgundy is one of the most practical colours for a hallway rug: it hides everyday marks well and fades slowly. The navy end panels will show lint and pale fibres, and the gold and ivory in the güls and fringe will show dirt first.

This rug has three distinct zones, and each one comes from the Turkmen tradition behind the Bokhara. In the field, twelve lobed güls stand in two columns with cross-shaped minor güls between them — the classic arrangement. Around them, the main border is divided into small compartments, each holding one gold rosette with a ring of hooked rays, so the border reads as a steady chain of small suns. And at the two ends, beyond the border, there is a third zone: a navy panel with big hooked diagonals in ivory and gold. Turkmen weavers called this end panel the elem, and it is drawn at a much larger scale than anything else on the rug. Look at the rug from one end and the elem is the first thing you see — a bold, dark band that gives the rug a clear top and bottom before the fine detail of the field begins.
