Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

This hand-knotted Ghazni is laid out as a checkerboard of squares in soft teal and cream, each block filled with fine wavy diagonal striations that ripple as the light moves across them. The cool teal-and-cream palette and clean geometric grid give it a calm, contemporary character with real tactile depth — modern enough for a city flat, soft enough to live with.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun wool rich in lanolin, the pile is dense and soft underfoot and naturally resistant to everyday wear. The teal and cream are achieved with natural dyes, so the squares vary softly in tone and the wavy lines are drawn by hand — the mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made rug.

Material: 100 percent hand-spun Afghan wool, naturally rich in lanolin, which gives it softness, a subtle sheen, and a natural resistance to everyday dirt and spills.

Care instructions

  • Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
  • Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
  • Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
  • Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.

The same checkerboard idea as its sister rugs, here in cool denim-blue and cream. The field is divided into squares, each filled with fine wavy diagonal lines that run alternately one way then the other, so the surface seems to ripple as you cross the room. The blue and cream come from natural dyes and every square is knotted by hand in Afghanistan, so the tones drift gently from block to block — the honest fingerprint of a hand-made piece.
