Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A sand Jaldar rug with three large stepped compartments stacked down the field, each holding a small stepped diamond medallion with a cross-shaped centre. Stepped half-güls press in from both long sides and small connector bars join the compartments, forming the net that gives Jaldar its name. A border of slanting rows of small diamonds frames the design, and a woven signature appears in one corner.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan in wool, with a soft, lustrous pile. At 71×126cm this is an extra small rug, a good size for an entrance, a bedside or a small space.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use, including busy spots like an entrance.

A light ground like this shows dark marks more than a deep ground would, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

This rug takes the Jaldar idea and draws it on a large scale. Instead of many small güls, the field is divided into three big stepped compartments stacked one above another, each holding a small stepped diamond medallion with a cross-shaped heart, ringed by tiny dots. Between the compartments, stepped half-güls press in from both long sides and short connector bars link the panels down the middle, so the open ground forms the jaal, or net, that gives Jaldar its name. Small comb-like sprigs are scattered around each medallion, a filler taken from Turkmen weaving. A main border of slanting rows of small diamonds, between narrow guard stripes, frames the field. In one corner the weaver has knotted a signature in script, a personal mark that makes the piece all the more individual. It suits an entrance, a bedside or a small sitting area.
