Rug material

Only one available — one-of-a-kind.

A deep, glowing red field anchors this rug, its centre crowned by an ivory cusped medallion with a midnight-blue core and delicate pendants. Across the red ground spreads a dense garden of curling vines and blossoms — salmon, soft green, gold and pale blue — so the whole field shimmers with detail without ever losing its rich red warmth.

At the lower corners, dramatic navy-blue spandrels open into flowering shrubs, framing the medallion like a walled garden. Encircling it all is a broad ivory border of palmettes and scrolling leaves, worked in rose, indigo and green and held by fine navy and red guard stripes. The pale border throws the red field into relief and gives the piece a balanced, formal elegance.

Hand-knotted in Pakistan with the fine Persian double knot, the rug is woven in pure wool on a cotton foundation — the pile dense and even, the floral detail crisp throughout, finished with a hand-tied ivory fringe. A warm, traditional red like this brings depth and richness to a living room, study or bedroom, and at this size works beautifully as an accent or layered piece. As a hand-knotted original, it is genuinely one of a kind. Woven with the persian double knot.

The central-medallion design is the most revered layout in the Persian tradition, brought to its height in the workshops of Tabriz and Kashan. A single ornate medallion anchors the centre of a flowering field, mirrored in the corner spandrels and enclosed by floral borders — a woven vision of the enclosed paradise garden, both ordered and abundant.

Worked on a deep red ground — the most classical and auspicious of Persian field colours — the medallion seems to float above an endless garden of vines and blossoms. Rewoven by hand in Pakistan in pure wool, the rug's small irregularities of line and colour are the signature of the weaver's hand, not flaws — the mark of a true one-of-a-kind piece.
