A deep blue field carries three bold star medallions down its length — a red-and-gold sunburst, a radiant cream Lezgi star, and a red medallion with a hooked gold centre — in this hand-knotted Kazak. Gold and orange star-flowers, radiating hooks and small tribal figures fill the ground, and a red border of running-dog hooks and angular vines, flanked by reciprocal guard stripes, frames the whole. It has the clear, powerful drawing that makes Kazak rugs instantly recognisable.
Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from hand-spun highland wool, the pile is thick, lustrous and hard-wearing. The colours are drawn from natural dyes, so the blue glows with abrash and every motif is drawn slightly differently — the honest mark of a genuine one-of-a-kind, hand-made piece.

Care instructions
- Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating brush.
- Rotate the rug occasionally so it wears and fades evenly.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth, working from the outside in, and do not rub.
- Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colour.
- Use a professional rug cleaner for any deep clean.
- Light shedding is normal with new wool and settles within the first few months.
The Kazak is one of the boldest of tribal weaves, descended from the mountain villages of the Caucasus, favouring large, clear medallions on saturated grounds. Here three star medallions — a red-and-gold sunburst, a cream Lezgi star and a red hooked medallion — run down a deep blue field scattered with gold star-flowers and radiating hooks, framed by a red border of running-dog and vine motifs. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan from natural-dyed highland wool, every motif is worked by hand — the fingerprint of a one-of-a-kind piece.
