A berry magenta rug with a faded floral design: a central field of soft flowers, leaves and branching vines, set inside a wide border carrying larger flower heads and scrolling stems, with narrow guard bands at the outer edge. All the drawing is done in close tones, a little lighter or darker than the ground, so the pattern looks worn and softened rather than sharp.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan in wool. The field is slightly deeper in tone than the border, so the centre reads as a calm panel framed by a brighter edge. At 176×279cm this is a large rug for a living room or dining room.

Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in living and dining rooms.

A rich mid-tone like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

This rug takes a classic layout, a floral field inside a wide border, and quiets it down. The field is filled with small flowers, leaves and branching vines, and the border carries larger flower heads joined by scrolling stems, but every line is drawn only a little lighter or darker than the berry magenta ground. The result looks softened and worn, as if the pattern were fading into the colour. The field is a shade deeper than the border, so the centre reads as a calm panel and the border as a brighter frame around it. Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days, then take 7 to 15 business days in transit. Every order ships with tracking. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
