Material: 100 percent wool pile, hand-knotted in Afghanistan. Wool is naturally resilient and hard-wearing, and the pile is made for everyday use in living and dining rooms.

A deep ground like this hides everyday marks well, but strong colours can fade unevenly in direct sunlight, and the pile looks lighter or darker depending on the direction it is brushed.

The layout of this rug is simple and strong: a framed field and a wide, open border. In the field, stylised flowering trees with broad crowns alternate row by row with fan-shaped sprays of blooms, and thin scrolling vines run between them so the rows join into one continuous pattern. The border around the frame is mostly plain navy, which lets the trailing vines stand out as they climb around all four sides, carrying large round flowers at intervals. There is no central medallion, so the rug looks the same from any side of the room. From a distance the frame gives a clear, tidy shape; up close the leaves, stems and petals come forward. It suits a living or dining room with simple furniture.

Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
