Opulent and full of movement, this rug scatters a constellation of glowing gold medallions across a deep black ground. Rather than a single centre, several large star-shaped medallions — each a burst of gold petals around a red-and-ivory heart — sit among pendant motifs and a dense web of floral tracery. The dark field makes the gold blaze, giving the whole rug a jewelled, ceremonial richness.

A broad ivory-and-gold border of bold palmettes and scrolling vines frames the field, accented with garnet red and touches of navy and sage. The black ground is the base of the design and gives it depth and drama, while gold crowns every medallion and fills the border, and the red and green details bring the flowers to life up close.

Hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with the tight double knot, the rug shows the dense knotting and elaborate, controlled drawing of a genuinely fine weave. Returns
For a change of mind, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and in original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer and can be expensive from outside Japan, so please ask us about size or colour before you order. If your rug arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, contact us with photos within 30 days of delivery: we pay for the return and send a replacement or a full refund.
