A deep brick red field carrying a grid of large stepped güls in cream, salmon and near-black, each holding a smaller diamond and a small cross at its centre, and all of them joined edge to edge by cream bands into a single continuous net. Wide multi-band borders of diamond diaper, hooked repeats and small güls in cream, red and navy frame the field. Cream fringe at both ends.
Hand-knotted in wool. Measured across the field, the cream drawing and the red ground each take almost exactly half the surface — fifty per cent to fifty — so neither one settles as the background. At 156×239cm this is a medium room rug, suited to a living room, a bedroom or under a smaller dining table.
